Fastest Vasaloppet male division winners in Sweden 2025
The fastest male winner of the Swedish cross-country skiing competition Vasaloppet was Tord Asle Gjerdalen from Norway in 2021, with a record time of three hours, 28 minutes, and 18 seconds
It was first in 1997 that the female division of Vasaloppet started. The modern competition began in 1922 and is held annually on the first Sunday of March. It is a 90 kilometer cross-country skiing race, inspired by the Swedish king Gustav Vasa's liberation journey while fleeing from the King of Denmark's soldiers in the 1500s.
