A survey conducted in March 2025 analyzed European public opinion on the potential impact of tariffs imposed by the U.S. on the EU economy. The results showed that public opinion in Germany was the most negative overall, with 25 percent of respondents believing that the trade war would have a lot of impact on the EU economy. In contrast, only 9 percent of the Danish public believed that the imposition of tariffs would have a major effect on the EU economy.
