According to a survey conducted between May and September 2024, surveyed companies across subregions of the Asia and Pacific region forecasted an increase in relevance of skills in AI and big data by 2030. Notably, respondents from Southeast Asia expected skills related to networks and cybersecurity would also increase in importance by 2030, with 96 percent of the respondents indicating this.

Original question: “For your organisation’s key roles, would you expect an increase or decrease in the use of the following skills by 2030?”. The five most-selected skills, based on respondent share, were reported for each region.
Among 1,043 respondents who are Chief People, Chief Learning Officers, Chief Strategy Offices and Chief Executive Officers in multinational and national companies with at least 500 employees worldwide. These companies span 22 industry sectors and 55 economies worldwide, representing 14 million workers.
