In 2024, arms exports from Israel stood at over one billion trend-indicator values (TIV), an indicator developed by the SIPRI institute. This was a decrease compared to the previous year, when the export of weapon systems peaked at almost 1.3 billion TIV. Despite fluctuations, arms exports from the country grew significantly over recent decades.
TIV (trend-indicator value) is a unit invented by SIPRI. It is used to allow comparison between data on deliveries of various conventional weapons and to identify general trends. The TIV is based on the known unit production costs of a core set of weapons and is intended to represent the transfer of military resources rather than the financial value of the transfer.
