Annual key figures on debit card payments in Brazil, with forecasts up to 2028

All figures have been gathered and calculated by Statista, based on information from various sources. These include:

• Bank for International Settlements (BIS), itself using data from the country's central bank or chief payments organization;
• International Monetary Fund (IMF);
• World Bank.

Historical figures were then used in a forecast, with the projection following a linear trend. Note that countries tend to have difficulties in tracking credit cards, which can sometimes lead to changes in historical figures as countries adapt their definition. This may mean that credit card forecasts might be more drastic when compared to debit cards, especially for European countries.
