In 2024, over three out of four worldwide merchants with online presence reported a surge in the amount of fraud experienced by their companies, according to a survey. Almost a quarter of the fraud and payment professionals working in the retail sector reported a significant increase in the number of fraud impacting their companies in the previous 12 months. Only 15.6 percent of marketplace merchants experienced a decrease in the amount of fraud.
