Awareness of AI-powered fraud on online merchants worldwide 2024, by sector

More than 60 percent of merchants with an online presence were aware about fraudster activity against them using the help of artificial intelligence (AI), according to a 2024 survey. Merchants in the digital goods sector were the most aware of AI-powered fraud against them (70 percent). Almost 40 percent of fraud and payment professionals in the marketplace sector were unaware of these types of attacks against them.
