According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2024, about 40.1 percent of respondents believed that mobile card usage would increase in the future. Credit card usage followed with about 38.5 percent of responses, while only 3.3 percent believed in an increase in cash usage.

*A mobile card refers to a card registered in a credit card company's app or a mobile easy payment app (such as Samsung Pay, Naver Pay, or Kakao Pay) on a smartphone or smartwatch and is used for payments.
**Mobile easy payment refers to a payment method carried out via mobile devices on which the credit or debit card data is stored. Users register their cards with the mobile payment service provider, which enables them to make online and offline payments using just a passcode or fingerprint scan, bypassing the authentication process previously required.
