That last year, there were roughly ******* homes with a new HERS rating. The average score of those homes has been decreasing slowly, with lower scores indicating that those homes are more efficient. Texas had the highest number of homes rated by the HERS index.
In the HERS index, 150 is the worst possible score, indicating that a home is energy inefficient. A home with a score of 100 indicates meets the standards for a new home. While a score of 0 is a net zero energy home.
