A study conducted in February 2025 among adult internet users in the United States found that ** percent of participants said they had read the summaries of artificial intelligence (AI) while conducting online searches. At the same time, ** percent said they did not read the summary at all. One ******* of those who answered compared it to regular search results, and one ***** looked at the sources that were listed in the summary.

Usage percentage was considered for users who affirmed the usage of AI search summaries "in all of my searches," "in most of my searches," or "in about half of my searches."
The source also states that the present data were weighted by age, race, gender, education, and region to "reflect the latest population estimates from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey."
