eSport spending in Italy 2024, by viewer type

According to a survey conducted among eSports viewers in Italy in 2024, hardcore viewers, or viewers who consumed more than ten hours of eSports content per week, were the most likely to spend money on almost all types of eSports products. Up to ** percent of hardcore viewers spent money on eSports betting, while ** percent reported spending on eSports events and paywalled eSports content. However, heavy eSports viewers were the most likely to spend on eSports merchandising. Occasional viewers were the least likely to spend on eSports, with less than **** spending money on any type of eSports product.

Occasional viewers are eSports viewers who have watched eSports content between one and three hours weekly in the last six months.
