In 2023, the United States was the leading producer in the USMCA region, dwarfing Canada and Mexico with approximately 81.4 million metric tons of crude steel production. That year, Canada manufactured slightly more than 12.1 million metric tons of crude steel, a minor production level compared to the other two North American countries.
