Average per game attendance in the NBA from 2010-2025
The average per game attendance during the 2024/25 regular season of the National Basketball Association stood at 18,137. This marked a slight decrease from the previous season, however, was the second-highest average attendance recorded since 2010/11.
NBA attendances
The total attendance at regular season games in the NBA also dipped marginally in the 2024/25 season, however, remained over an aggregate total of 22 million. The Chicago Bulls had the highest average regular season home attendance among all NBA franchises that year - over 20,000 spectators attended home games in 2024/25. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers, the New York Knicks, and the Denver Nuggets also recorded some of the highest average home attendances.
NBA TV audiences
Over the last five years, the average TV audience for the NBA's regular season has minimally but steadily decreased. During the 2024/25 season, an average of 1.53 million viewers tuned into each NBA regular season fixture across ABC, ESPN, and TNT. The decline in viewership of the NBA Finals, however, has been more dramatic, with the average audience in the United States nearly halving between 2015 and 2024.
