International tourist arrivals worldwide 2019-2024, by subregion
The total number of international tourist arrivals worldwide increased in 2024 over the previous year, and in some regions exceeded pre-pandemic levels. Overall, Southern/Mediterranean Europe was the region with the highest number of inbound tourist arrivals worldwide, both before and after the onset of the pandemic, with 328.4 million arrivals in 2024. That year, Western Europe and North East Asia followed in the ranking, with roughly 210 million and 146 million international tourist arrivals, respectively.
