The total value of lodging construction put in place in the United States has fluctuated significantly between 2008 and 2024. In 2008, the value of hotel construction peaked at 35.8 billion U.S. dollars, only to fall down to 9 billion U.S. dollars a couple of years later. In 2024, the construction spending on hotels and other resorts fell by 1.38 billion U.S. dollars.
