Growth in patent applications for the top 20 offices 2023

Between 2022 and 2023, India had the highest growth rate of patent applications globally, with an increase of 17.2 percent. Furthermore, Viet Nam experienced a growth rate of 8.6 percent, followed by Indonesia with a rate of 5.9 percent. Meanwhile, some countries experienced significant decreases. Hong Kong SAR experienced a decrease of 11.8 percent, while South Africa had a decrease of 23.3 percent.
