Oil consumption in Italy amounted to 57.4 million metric tons in 2023, down from some 58.2 million metric tons in the previous year. Nevertheless, during the period under consideration, figures have shown a genral trend a decrease.

Figures refer to inland demand as well as international aviation and marine bunkers and refinery fuel and loss. Data exludes consumption of biodiesel and biogasoline but includes derivatives of coal and natural gas are included.
