Natural gas production in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States amounted to 36.8 exajoules in 2020. In the period of consideration, figures increased by nearly four exajoules, and peaked at 39.5 exajoules in 2008. Figures excludes flared or recycled gas.

Figures for years not included in the pdf version were taken from the Data workbook of the Statistical Review. Editions of the report prior to 2018 named the region as Europe and Eurasia, whereas the 2018 edition of the report listed Europe and CIS separately. The 2018 and 2019 figures for these two regions have therefore have been added together. CIS is an abbreviation for the Commonwealth of Independent States.
This statistic was assembled using several editions of the report.
