Natural gas production in the European Union decreased by nearly three exajoules between 1998 and 2019. Up to this point, the United Kingdom was the EU's main natural gas producer. By 2023, natural gas production in the European Union, excluding the United Kingdom, amounted to nearly 1.24 exajoules.
