The largest importer of major arms between 2020 and 2024 was Ukraine, accounting for almost nine percent of the global market. This must be seen in relation with the Russian invasion of the country in 2022. India followed behind with just above eight percent, with Qatar and Saudi Arabia in third. The United States was the leading arms exporter in the world.
