In 2024, Heineken employed nearly 28,000 people in Europe. The largest part of the workforce at about 34,500 people, was located in the Americas. That year, the company was comprised of a total of roughly 88,500 employees globally. 

Heineken’s worldwide revenue

In 2023, Heineken N.V.’s operating segment in Europe generated 14.6 billion euros in revenue. Over 10 billion euros were made in the Americas that same year. The company’s consolidated revenue amounted to just under 36 billion euros. 

The beer market in the Netherlands

Until 2020, about 24 million hectoliters of beer were produced annually in the Netherlands. Production dropped to 22 million hectoliters in 2020 and 2021. The number of breweries responsible has grown in recent years: between 2012 and 2020, the number of active beer brewing companies in the country has quadrupled. Many of these breweries were located in specific parts of the country. In 2023, the Dutch provinces with the highest number of active breweries were Noord-Brabant, Noord-Holland, and Zuid-Holland, respectively.
