Social media has become a part of the daily life in China, it is more than entertainment and recreation. According to a survey conducted in June 2021, having casual chats was the top reason for using social media on mobile phones, with 68.5 percent of respondents saying so. While 39.4 percent of respondents used social media to seek for new friendships while 19.1 percent admitted they would like to find new partners.
