In 2024, the 100 leading chain store operators generated retail sales value of around 2.13 trillion yuan, contributing to about 4.4 percent of the total retail sales of consumer goods in China, which amounted to around 48.79 trillion yuan. That year, Walmart was China's largest chain retailer.
