In 2024, Home Depot’s appliances product category generated global sales of 14 billion U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, the company’s lighting net sales amounted to roughly 4.2 billion U.S. dollars. With almost 5,000 retail stores, Ace Hardware had the highest number of home improvement outlets located in the United States in 2023. The Home Depot accounted for less than half that number. In terms of customer satisfaction, Menards took the lead with 678 out of 1,000 points, as reflected in a 2024 survey. The Home Depot earned a score of 665, just below industry average.

According to a surveys conducted in July 2024, 41 percent wanted to renovated their kitchens for that reason, and 47 percent wanted to spruce up their bathrooms.
