Emirates Group's passenger seat factor FY 2013/14-2023/24
In the financial year 2023/2024, the passenger seat factor of Emirates Group was about 79.9 percent, up from 79.5 percent in the previous year. The passenger seat factor of the Emirates Group has recovered to its pre-pandemic levels in recent years.
Passenger seat factor
The passenger seat factor is a metric used to assess the efficiency of an airline provider in filling seats and generating revenues. It is calculated as a percentage of the used capacity of an airline and it is released by the Air Transport Association (ATA). As of 2015, India was the destination with the largest share of international seat capacity for Emirates Airlines, followed by the United Kingdom.
Airline Profitability
More than 70 percent of airline revenues are generated by passengers and 15 percent is from air freight and cargo services. The number of passengers of Emirates Airline had been increasing over the years to reach about 60 million passengers in 2019. On the other hand, the amount of cargo carried by Emirates Airlines has been in decline for the last five years.
