According to a 2025 study, the number of outbound tourist visits from Europe was expected to grow across all regions in that year. In 2025, Central and Eastern European countries were forecast to record the highest outbound tourism growth in Europe, with an estimated 11.3 percent annual increase in outbound trips.

Outbound refers to the sum of visits to all destinations. Figures were calculated using the Global Travel Service (GTS) model as of December 17, 2024.

Northern Europe includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Western Europe includes Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Southern/Mediterranean Europe includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey. 

Central/Eastern Europe includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
