This statistic is based on about 68,150 paid, regulated long-term care services providers serving about 7.3 million people in the United States. Long-term care services were provided by 4,100 adult day services centers, 11,400 home health agencies, 5,200 hospices, 1,200 inpatient rehabilitation facilities, 350 long-term care hospitals, 15,600 nursing homes, and 28,900 assisted living and similar residential care communities.
