In California, for instance, over ***** offices and mixed-use offices received this certification for green buildings - a figure that is higher than in the state of New York and Texas combined. There were other differences between the states, however: there were *** K-12 buildings in Ohio with a certification, more than in any other state. Note that the figures provided are cumulative - meaning that all buildings with such a certification are included, even if they were built or certified several years ago. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental design.
