Italy, France and Spain are home to the greatest number of operational LNG terminals in Europe. As of January 202, all three countries had seven import-focused terminals. Additioanlly, Italy has proposed to add a further four LNG import terminals to its list of three operational units, which would bring its total to 12 units. Figures include both onshore facilities and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU). As the region's only major oil and gas producer, Norway was also the only country with active export terminals, at five units.
