This statistic displays the source of referrals for substance misuse in Wales in the period 2018/19, by main problematic substance. In this period the self-referral was the main source of referrals as it accounted for approximately 4.7 thousand individuals referring themselves for alcohol misuse and over 3.3 thousand individuals referring themselves for drug misuse.
