Sanofi pharmaceutical segment revenues by product group 2024

This statistic shows the revenue of Sanofi's pharmaceutical segment by product groups in 2024. In that year, Sanofi's vaccine division generated 8.3 billion euros of revenue. Sanofi is one of the top global pharmaceutical companies. It is headquartered in Paris, France. 

Sanofi's segments

Sanofi’s pharmaceutical segment generated 12 billion euros in revenue through its "Other Medicines" products (including diabetes) in 2024. Lantus is one of Sanofi’s best-selling pharmaceutical products. Its revenue has risen from 2.4 billion euros in 2008 to 6.39 billion euros in 2015, but decreased again to 1.4 billion until 2023. Lantus is an insulin glargine used daily to control blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes. Clopidogrel, which is marketed under Sanofi’s trade name Plavix, is an oral agent that prevents blood clots in patients with some types of heart disease and also prevents heart attacks.  

Sanofi originated in 1973 as a subsidiary of Elf Aquitaine, the company ventured into the U.S. market in 1994. Today, the company is focused on the biopharmaceutical market, but it also used to maintain an animal health segment. Sanofi generated over 41 billion euros in total revenues in 2024. The company spent around 7.4 billion euros in the same year on research and development.
