This statistic shows the number of cinema goers watching German films in Germany from 1994 to 2023. According to the German Federal Film Board (FFA), 22.4 million cinema goers went to see a German film in 2023. This was over double the number of people compared to 2021, and an increase from 2022. Between 1994 and 2023, the highest number of cinema goers watching German films was reached in 2009, at 39.9 million.
