In recent years, the value of furniture production in Sweden generally increased. Since 2013, the country’s production value went up, however, by 2024 it dropped to around 26 billion Swedish kroner.
Furniture imports
The import value of furniture into Sweden increased overall since 2012. As of 2024, the country’s import value reached 20.6 billion Swedish kroner. In this year, China and Poland were the leading furniture import markets, both import values of almost four billion Swedish kronor. It was followed by the Lithuanian and Danish markets.
Furniture exports
Swedish furniture is well known all over the world for its minimalist and practical design. The value of furniture exported from Sweden between 2010 and 2024 fluctuated. It was highest in 2022, amounting to over 22.2 billion Swedish kroner. By 2024, it decreased to 20.8 billion Swedish kroner. The leading export market for Swedish furniture was Norway. Other important destination countries were for example Denmark and Germany.
