When French consumers carried physical, or plastic, payment cards with them in 2023, they were most likely international cards. This is according to weighted estimates, based on surveys held throughout 2023. Noticeable is the relatively low amount of domestic cards as France's main card brand is the locally issued Cartes Bancaires (CB). It should be noted that CB has a partnership with Visa, which may or may not impact the figures shown here. The source does not provide information on virtual cards.
