The number of same-day outbound trips made from Hungary followed an increasing trend until 2020 when the tourism industry was severely affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. In 2024, Hungarians made 13.1 million one-day trips to other countries, compared to over 15 million recorded in the peak year.
