Number of new passenger car registrations in Hungary 2010-2024
Over the first years of the observed period, new passenger car registrations continuously grew in Hungary, peaking at 157.9 thousand by 2019. However, this figure started following a declining trend throughout the next years until 2024, when new car restorations increased from the previous years to 121.6 thousand.
Most popular car brands
In 2024, Suzuki was the leading car maker in Hungary, considering that two of the top three car models of the year were made by the same manufacturer. Nearly seven thousand Suzuki Vitara cars were registered in 2024, followed by more than six thousand Suzuki S-Cross models. When it comes to electric cars, in the beginning of 2024,Tesla was the leading brand based on sales volume, followed by Nissan and BYD.
