Single-cup brewer market: usage among U.S. past day coffee drinkers 2010-2024
In 2024, almost 25 percent of coffee drinkers in the United States reported to have consumed single-cup coffee the day before. Also known as single serve coffee makers, the single-cup brewer method is very common among U.S. coffee drinkers.
Single-cup brewing systems per household
Many American households own a single-cup brewing system: roughly half of U.S. consumers with a household income exceeding 50,000 U.S. dollars had such a coffee maker at home. For households that generated 15,000 U.S. dollars or less, the average was closer to 30 percent.
Other coffee making methods in the U.S.
The single-cup brewer method was the second most common way for Americans to make coffee in 2024. The most popular method, however, was the drip coffee maker. 32 percent of the surveyed coffee drinkers reported having used this method for their past-day consumption. There were also many other types of coffee making means used that year, such as the French press, bean-to-cup brewers, and the Italian Moka stove top.
