Number of private equity deals in Canada 2023, by province
In Canada, the highest number of private equity (PE) deals were signed in the province of Quebec in 2023. A total of 344 private equity deals were signed in the province that year, followed by Ontario, where 163 deals were closed. Another leading province in terms of deal volume was British Columbia, amounting to a total of 67 transactions. Quebec and Ontario accounted for more than 80 percent of the total value of private equity invested in Canada in 2023.
