The United States was the world's greatest wood pellet exporter country in 2024, with an export volume of over 10 million metric tons. Canada followed, with an export volume of just under 5.8 million metric tons. Raw materials used for wood pellets include sawdust shavings as well as residue from chips, whole logs, and wood products.
