Africa and the Arab States were the only global regions in which the share of fixed-telephone subscriptions per 100 inhabitants increased in 2024. Despite this, fixed telephone penetration in both regions remained far lower than that of Europe and the Americas, where there were 28.5 and 16.7 subscriptions per 100 inhabitants, respectively.
