This could be attributed to the increasing number of cosmetics stores available in the UK. Between 2016 and 2017 only, an additional 106 specialized stores opened in the UK in this category.

That year, 10.94 billion euros worth of cosmetics and personal care products were consumed in the UK. The United Kingdom was surpassed by France by a very narrow margin.
