The government expenditure on the use of goods and services in the Netherlands decreased by 0.1 percent of GDP (-1.72 percent) in 2017 in comparison to the previous year. As a result, the expenditure in the Netherlands saw its lowest number in 2017 with 5.7 percent of GDP.
The source defines the use of goods and services as follows: 'Goods and services used as inputs in a production process, which are transformed into new products at the end of the process, e.g. raw materials, semi-manufactured goods, services of accountants or cleaners, telephone costs. This corresponds to the term 'intermediate consumption' as used in the national accounts.'
