In the financial year 2023/24, there were 4,770 new homes completed in Wales. That was significantly lower than in the previous year, when there were over a thousand more homes completed. The number of residential units completed in Wales also peaked in 2006/07, just before the start of the financial crisis of 2007. The housing construction segment in Wales has not reached those activity levels since then.
