User share of the Android smartphone operating system in Finland 2016, by age group

This statistic shows the result of a survey on the share of users of the Android smartphone operating system in Finland in 2016, by age group. Out of the respondents aged 15 to 24 years, 66 percent owned a smartphone that operated on an Android operating system. The corresponding figure for the age group of 25 to 34 years was 58 percent. From the respondents aged 35 to 44 years 43 percent stated that their smartphone ran on an Android operating system, which was 2 percent more than in the age range of 45 to 54 years. The lowest shares were accounted for by older age ranges, 25 percent of the respondents aged 65 to 74 having a smartphone running on an Android operating system.
Android is a mobile operating system which was developed by Google. Several mobile appliances from various brands run on an Android operating system. The brands include HTC, Samsung, LG and Nokia. One of the main competitors for Google's Android operating system is the iOS operating system from Apple.
