In the 2024 financial year, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) group had a monthly average of 115 employees engaged in performance rugby, which accounted for the highest share of employees that year. In recent years, there has been a sharp growth in this category of employees, with the 2015 figure having been only around a third of that in 2024. Meanwhile, the monthly average for employees in management and administration in the WRU group has been on a general trend of decline after having peaked in 2020.
