
Total number of new HIV diagnoses in Italy 2023, by age group and gender
In 2023, 2,349 new HIV cases were diagnosed in Italy. This statistic breaks down this figure according to the patients' age and gender. Most new diagnosis were among males, with 1,786 new cases, while only 563 new cases were among females. For both genders, the age at the moment of the diagnosis was more often between 30 and 39 years of age. In fact, 501 men and 151 women in their 30s were newly diagnosed with HIV.
