There were 885 drilled but uncompleted oil and gas wells in the Permian basin in October 2024. The Permian reported the most uncompleted well drilling in the period under consideration, although there has been a decline in such wells since 2022. Meanwhile, the number of U.S. oil and gas rigs in use stood at around 580 units.
