Average pizza prices in pizzerias in Sweden in 2018, by city

In 2018, consumers had to spent on average 84.89 Swedish kronor for a Vesuvio pizza from a pizzeria in Sweden’s capital Stockholm.  Average pizza prices were also very high in Umeå, Norrköping and Uppsala. In the period from 2008 to 2017, the household consumption expenditure on restaurants in general and on hotels increased constantly, peaking at nearly 130 billion Swedish kronor.

Enterprises in restaurant industry 

       In recent years, the number of restaurants or enterprises in the restaurant industry grew steadily. In 2007, there were around 20 thousand companies registered. In the following ten years, this figure increased by approximately five thousand enterprises in this industry.

 Firm sizes 

   As of 2018, most establishments in the restaurant, catering and bar industry in Sweden employed one to four people; the number amounted to roughly 10.7 thousand enterprises. A firm size of zero employees had around 9.6 thousand companies, while there were only 11 companies with 500 employees and more.
