In 2024, about 222 thousand domestic pilgrims fulfilled the Hajj in Saudi Arabia. This represented an increase from the previous year, when about 184 thousand pilgrims attended. The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that is considered a mandatory religious duty by practicing Muslims.
