Per capita consumption of food products in Norway 2023
In 2023, the per capita consumption of grins (including rice) reached 80 kilograms. In this year, this was the highest consumption volume among these selected food products. By comparison, 78 kilograms of fruit and berries were consumed per person in the country. In general, the per capita consumption of fruit and berries fluctuated in recent years.
Per capita sales volume of fruit
The annual per capita sales volume of fruit in Norway decreased overall from 2010 to 2021. During this time, it peaked in 2014 with a volume of 66.5 kilograms of fruit consumed per capita. By the end of the period, the annual sales volume of fruit amounted to 51.6 kilograms per person.
Production of fruit
The production volume of fruit in Norway fluctuated strongly in the past years. It reached its peak in 2023. According to figures for this year, the Norwegian agriculture industry produced roughly 24,000 metric tons of fruit.
